Service Terms & Conditions

Weather plays an important role in our ability to properly service your property and we appreciate your patience in providing us time to attend to the service schedule. In consideration for the services provided by Grounds Control Landscaping you agree to adhere to the following terms and conditions:


Description of Services



  • Grounds Control Landscaping will provide courteous and professional service with well maintained equipment and sharp blades to provide a well manicured lawn.
  • We recommend not cutting more than 1/3 of the grass length at any one time to ensure a healthy lawn. Length should be kept at a minimum of 2-3 inches to encourage deeper root growth, improve density, reduce weeds, stress and disease.
  • Services are booked on a first come first serve basis.
  • It is the customer's responsibility to mark all sprinkler systems.
  • All dog waste must be cleaned up prior to the crew’s arrival. A failure to do so will result in additional charges.
  • All tools, toys, hoses, sprinklers, rocks or debris etc. must be cleaned up prior to the crew's arrival so that they can provide uninterrupted service. A failure to do so will result in additional charges.
  • Lawn of excessive length, over watering/fertilizing may require additional time and will result in additional charges.
  • We are not responsible for any damages to plants, flowers, shrubs, lights, hoses, tools, decorations, ornaments, toys, etc with no discernible separation from the lawn or within 12"/30 cm of lawn service area.
  • Lawn care services are provided on a weekly schedule. Any changes, interruptions or cancellation of service must be done a minimum 48 hours prior to the next service date or the full service charges will apply.
    • Failure to turn off all sprinklers on scheduled service day will result in a cancellation of service for that day and a full service charge will apply.
    • Out of city limits work will have a minimum 1/2 hour per worker time charge added to service.
  • Services that are delayed due to weather will be rescheduled for the next weather-permitting day or shortly thereafter, depending upon the number of continuous days affected by the weather.


Payment

  • A credit card is required for all service bookings.
  • Payment is due upon receipt of invoice by E-transfer or cheque.
  • Payments not received within 30 days will be charged to the credit card.
  • All declined cheques or credit cards will be charged a $25 administration fee.
  • Invoices will be deemed as correct and non-negotiable after 10 days from invoicing date.
  • All services will be suspended due to non payment or dispute of services until resolved.

 

Limit of Liability

  • Grounds Control Landscaping's obligations under this contract are limited to providing or causing to be provided the services and we do not assume any other liabilities or obligations of or to the client under this contract.
  • The Client shall indemnify, fully protect, save harmless and defend Grounds Control Landscaping and all persons providing the Services under this contract against and from losses, costs and damages arising as a consequence of actions, proceedings, claims or demands brought or made by or against Grounds Control Landscaping,  the Client, or their affiliates, employees, agents or contractors or by any other persons as a result of the provision of the Services under this contract.

SNOW REMOVAL

  

Snow removal will begin once snow has stopped falling and will be cleared as quickly as possible and according to City of Calgary Bylaws. At times of heavy snowfalls or wet heavy snow, it may take more time to complete the clearing than usual and we appreciate your patience.


During continuous snowfalls we will begin clearing each morning and clear each property once in every 24 hour period until the final clearing is completed for the snow event.


Regular full season snow removal service begins November 1st and runs through April 30th. We can clear snow in September and October upon request for an additional fee if you are not on a year round service program.


Routes for each crew are optimized for the quickest time for completing the snow removal. We cannot provide specific times of service as there are too many variables such as amount and type of snow, traffic conditions, time of snowfall, temperature etc.


Non full season monthly service includes up to 6 clearings per month, after which, each clearing will be charged at 1/6 of the monthly price. Monthly service begins at the beginning of each month and ends on the last day of the month.

Termination of services can be done up 48 hours prior to the beginning of a month. Termination will result in the rescinding of any discounts and will be added to the final invoice.


Snow removal services are not provided on Christmas day or New Year’s day.


Snow will be cleared from the areas requested and must remain on the property according to City Bylaws. Snow cannot be cleared to and piled on the streets or back lanes.


We are not responsible for any slips and or fall injuries as our services are for snow removal only. The property owner must maintain the property in between snowfalls and clearings to ensure no slips or fall occur. We do have ice melter available that can be purchased and left on the property and we will apply this as necessary on each snow removal visit. The property owner is responsible for ice management in between visits.


Drifting snow, freeze thaw cycles, Chinooks, snow plow windrows etc. are not a part of a snowfall event and can be cleared upon request for an additional fee.


We are not responsible for any damages to surfaces, doors, siding, buildings, items, decorations, power cords, lights etc. that are within the vicinity of the snow removal area.


Snow removal is much like an insurance policy, we are available and there for when it is needed without having to call each time to request service. We will show up at every snowfall.  The monthly fee is due prior to the beginning of each month.
